How we tend your information
Last updated: October 9, 2026
This policy is a general template written to reflect how The Mystic Brewer works. It is not customized to any specific jurisdiction. We recommend having a qualified attorney review it before relying on it, especially if you operate in regions with specific privacy laws.
The Mystic Brewer ("The Mystic Brewer," "we," "us") operates the The Mystic Brewer website and related services (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to all visitors and registered users of the Site. Our Terms of Service work together with this policy.
Account information: your name, email address, and authentication details when you register or sign in. Profile information: information you add to a guide or user profile, such as a display name, tagline, bio, specialties, profile and header images, and contact preferences. Booking information: the name, email, phone number, preferred contact method, proposed date/time, and any message you provide when requesting a session. Verification information: a private government ID document if you apply to become a guide. Message content: the text of conversations between you and guides through our messaging feature. Payment information: payment details you submit are handled by our payment provider, Base44 Payments; we do not store your full card number. Activity data: pages you view, features you use, and approximate device and location information. Communications: your email address and the contents of messages you send us.
We use your information to: create and manage your account; process bookings, sales, subscriptions, and promotional purchases; connect seekers with guides and enable messaging; verify guides; deliver horoscopes, affirmations, and personalized content; display your profile, reviews, and other content you publish; send service, transactional, and (where you consent) marketing emails; detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations; comply with legal obligations; and improve and develop the Site. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
We share information only as necessary: with guides and shops so they can fulfill bookings and sales you initiate (for example, your name and contact method for a session, or shipping details for an order); with our payment provider, Base44 Payments, to process transactions; with service providers that help us operate (hosting, email, analytics, and similar vendors) under contractual confidentiality; in aggregated or de-identified form that does not identify you; when we believe disclosure is required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of The Mystic Brewer, our users, or others; and in connection with a sale, merger, or transfer of all or part of our business. We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration.
We may display third-party advertising, including Google AdSense. Advertisers and ad networks may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You can manage ad personalization through your device settings and the ad network's opt-out tools. We also use our own cookies for authentication, preferences, and analytics. Most browsers let you control or delete cookies; disabling them may affect some features.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Site, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Verification documents are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for verification and fraud prevention. You may request deletion of your account and personal data; we will honor such requests subject to legal retention requirements and legitimate business needs such as ongoing disputes.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to processing, to request data portability, and to withdraw consent. Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and states with similar laws (such as California) may exercise these rights by contacting us through the support channels on the Site. We will verify your identity before fulfilling requests. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it. Bookings, selling, and paid features are limited to users 18 and older.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypting data in transit and limiting access to authorized personnel. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to notify affected users where required by law in the event of a breach.
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. By using the Site, you consent to such transfers. Where applicable, we use safeguards such as standard contractual clauses to ensure appropriate protection for data transferred across borders.
Guides and shops are independent parties who may collect their own information when you book or buy from them, including through PayPal.Me or other external payment links. Their handling of your data is governed by their own policies and the law, not this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review their terms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of independent guides, shops, or third-party services.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on the Site and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the Site. Your continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise your rights, contact us through the support channels provided on the Site. We aim to respond to legitimate requests within a reasonable timeframe.
